Box O’ Clox is composed of three songwriters (Larry Dolan, Cameron Michael Parkes and Chaz Pett). We have been writing and producing music since the 70s.
Chaz Pett// Songwriter, Lead Vocals, Piano Guitar
Chaz’s bands have played throughout the Midwest and California for three decades. “More than ever, the world needs sincere music,” says Chaz. His influences are the Beatles, Beach Boys, Neil Young, Moody Blues and Chopin. Chaz cannot read or write music but he has never allowed that to hold him back. He composes beautifully complex and strange (scary ooh) chords and melodies. He had the opportunity to play with John Lennon, too bad there was no recording or cameras rolling that day or was there? (see Future Projects). Dino Airali with (Shelter and Dark Horse Records fame) found interest in Chaz's music after hearing one of his demos recorded at Capitol Records. That’s another story since his bass player told Dino he was going back to Minnesota and Chaz never connected with Dino. Chaz has a wonderful life--a wealth of family and friends. He has no regrets following the dream and has left his musical legacy (and everything else) in the very capable hands of God.
Larry Dolan// Songwriter, Back-up Vocals, Spoken Word
Larry is a lyricist in the tradition of Bernie Taupin and Keith Reid of Procol Harum. He strives to emote cinematic images with his words. Larry was initially inspired by George Harrison then the Moody Blues. He was into the new age movement in the 70’s but has found the only true way to God is through Jesus Christ. Larry’s lyrics are spiritual and ironic (tongue firmly in cheek). He has many ironies in the fire. Currently, he writes mainly Christian lyrics. Larry has been called to reach the lost. Cameron Michael Parkes// Songwriter, Lead and Back-up Vocals, Producer/Arranger, Piano, Guitar, Programmable Drums
Cameron is a producer of high ambition and talent. He has scored several films and TV shows as well as writing a Broadway style musical inspired by Marilyn Monroe's life called: “Happy Birthday, Mr. President.” Cameron can arrange/orchestrate for any production big or small. He can also create sheet music for the singer/band that chooses to record one of our songs. His claim to fame to date is the Brian Wilson Tribute album and also a tribute to Jan Berry called: Encomium In Memoriam Vol. 1.
